Welcome to the English corner of Oxiekullars cattery.
The purpose of this page is to give our international friends and potential customers an insight into our cattery; what kind of cats we own ourselves, kittens for sale, the image galleries and so on. We are aiming at conveying the most important information on this page. There will be links to Swedish parts of the site, but only those parts which we believe are self-understanding, i.e it's possible to navigate even though you do not know the language.
If you have got any questions about our cats, our cattery, the kittens for sale or something else which regards this activity, do not hesitate to send us an e-mail. We will get back to you ASAP.
Our Cattery
Oxiekullars is a wordplay on the Swedish word "Kullar". It means both
Hill and Litter (in plural). There are a couple of ancient remains in Oxie which
are kalled "Oxiekullar" (Hills of Oxie) and we thought that it would
suit us, seing as we live in the small town called Oxie with roughly 11 000
inhabitans.
To start a cattery was not a matter of course but sortof just happened. Before we officially started our cattery we owned a domestic cat (Missan) which got pregnant with an unknown male cat. She bore a litter and we sold all kittens but one which we kept (Katja). Missan passed away in an accident roughly one year later and left an empty space in our household. A new cat was brought into our home, her name Maja Gräddnos, a genuine Norwegian Forrest cat. After one year we decided to apply for a catteryname and soon we had our first Norweigan Forrest cat litter...and that's how it has been since then.
We thoroughly enjoy to see kittens being born into this world and the weeks we get to spend with them are never boring but rather very fun and interresting although some kittens are rather rowdy at times, but so are small children. To watch these small furry packages of life rumble around inside our house and then later on outside in our enclosed garden is a great reward for us, and while it might be sad to see the kittens leave one by one when the time comes we still know that they will bring joy and happiness to their future owners.
